In the program READ ART! Jon will speak about contemporary art scene in Estonia and present books published in Estonia and on Estonian contemporary art. Jn donates all of the presented books to the library iof the Institute for Contemporary Art.

Casey will present her srtistic work, show egzamples of her films, paintings and photographs, and will speak about influences that the research in Eastern Europe eillhave to her future work.

Jon Blackwood is an art historian, curator and writer. He is Head of the Art History department at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Fine Art, University of Dundee. Since July he has been based in Tallinn, Estonia and more recently in Zagreb. In Tallinn, he worked on an Estonian Institute scholarship, researching the links between Estonian national identity and modernism in the inter-war years. Whilst in Tallinn he also curated the exhibition "A Moskvitch in Havana" at Tallinn Art Academy, and wrote on the parallels between Estonian and Slovenian performance art for the contemporary art magazine kunst.ee. In Zagreb, he is researching the evolution of art in the former Yugoslavia, with a view to writing a book on that subject. He is the author of "Winifred Nicholson" (Cambridge 2001), "Portrait of a Young Scotsman: Edward Baird (London, 2004) and a forthcoming monogrpah on the English sculptor John Skeaping (Lund Humphries, London, 2009), as well as many other published essays and articles.

Casey Campbell, born in Perth, is a painter, printmaker and filmmaker. She studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Fine Art and in February 2008 she won the Peacock Award for the Moving Image at the Royal Scottish Academy, for her film "an isolated fragment taken out of time and context". Since leaving art
 college she has concentrated on the human figure, and on architectural fragments. She exhibited in Tallinn at the "Moskvitch in Havana" exhibition and her work is also currently on display at the exhibition "Art Work from Scottish Degree Shows" at the Lochgelly Centre in Scotland.

In this session Jon will talk about the contemporary art scene in Estonia, and introduce some new books from there, which are being added to the SCCA collection. Casey will introduce her work by showing examples of film, painting and photography, and discuss the impact that her research in Eastern Europe will have on future work.

U programu ČITAJTE UMJETNOST! Jon će govoriti o suvremenoj umjetničkoj sceni u Estoniji, predstaviti knjige koje su objavljene u Estoniji i o estonskoj umjetnosti, i koje će donirati knjižnici Instituta za suvremenu umjetnost.

Casey će predstaviti svoj rad, pokazati primjere svojih filmova, slika i  fotografija, govoriti o utjecajima koja će istraživanja u Istočnoj Europi imati na njezin budući rad.

Jon Blackwood je povjesničar umjetnosti, kustos i pisac. Voditelj je odsjeka za povijest umjetnosti na Duncan of Jordanstone College of Fine Art, University of Dundee.

Od srpnja ove godine boravio u Tallinnu, Estonija, a trenutačno boravi u Zagrebu. U tallinnu je radio na stipendiji Estonskog Instituta, istražujući veze između estonskog nacionalnog identiteta i modernizma u međuratnom razdoblju. Za vrijeme svojeg boravka u Tallinnu postavio je izložbu "Moskvič u Havani" na Umjetničkoj akademiji u Tallinnu, pisao o usporednostima između estonskih i slovenskih umjetnika performancea za časopis kunst.ee.

U Zagrebu boravi kao istraživač na projektu o razvoju umjetnosti u bivšoj Jugoslaviji, što bi trebalo rezultirati njegovom novom knjigom.

Jonathan Blackwood je autor "Winifred Nicholson" (Cambridge 2001.), "Portrait of a Young Scotsman: Edward Baird (London, 2004.) i monografije o engleskom kiparu Johnu Skeapingu (Lund Humphries, London, (2009.), te niza objavljenih eseja i članaka.

Casey Campbell, rođena u Perthu, je slikarica, grafičarka i filmašica. Studirala je na Duncan of Jordanstone College of Fine Art. U veljači ove, 2008. godine, osvojila je Peacock Award, nagradu za svoj film "an isolated fragment taken out of time and context" ("izolirani fragment uzet iz vremena i konteksta"). Nakon što je diplomirala, njezin se rad koncentrirao oko ljudske figure i fragmenta arhitekture. U Tallinnu je izlagala na izložbi "Moskvič u Havani", a njezin je rad trenutačno izložen na izložbi "Art Work from Scottish Degree Shows" ("Umjetnost diplomanata škotskih likovnih akademija") u Lochgelly Centre u Škotskoj.
